The Oakland A’s clinched the AL West pennant on Sunday when the Texas
Rangers lost to the Kansas City Royals. Oakland’s team pulled away from
Texas in their division with yet another strong late-season run.
Entering play Sunday, they had won 21 of their last 28 games.
